The focus of this team is to support the ministry of Whosoever Gospel Mission in Philadelphia by providing quality eye care services to homeless men in their resident program.

Team members will support GFV optometrists by registering patients, taking medical history and vital signs, visual acuity testing, conducting auto refraction & optical imaging, dispensing readers and other similar services.

Our team is open to individuals who are fully vaccinated and desire to serve and make a difference in the lives of others. No medical background or experience necessary. Mandatory training will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2022, 1-5 PM. A voluntary contribution of $25 per person is suggested to cover the costs of food and other consumables for this clinic.

 

The team will be selected after the June 1, 2022 application deadline and will be reviewed on a first come first served basis, however, priority will be given to optometrists, opticians and individuals with a medical background.

         The focus of this team is to support the ministry of Grace Chapel to the Hispanic community in Havertown and the surrounding areas by providing               quality eye care services.

Team members will support GFV optometrists by registering patients, taking medical history and vital signs, visual acuity testing, conducting auto refraction & optical imaging, dispensing readers and other similar services.

Our team is open to individuals who are fully vaccinated and desire to serve and make a difference in the lives of others. Preference is given to Spanish speakers. No medical background or experience is necessary. Mandatory training will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2022, 1-5 PM. A voluntary contribution of $25 per person is suggested to cover the costs of food and other consumables for this clinic.

 

The team will be selected after the February 1, 2022 application deadline and will be reviewed on a first come first served basis, however, priority will be given to optometrists, opticians and individuals with a medical background.

Clarkston, GA

May 7 - 15, 2022

Our Clarkston team partners with Envision Atlanta to support their work by providing quality optometric care to the refugee community in Clarkston, GA.

Team members will support GFV optometrists by registering patients, taking medical history and vital signs, visual acuity testing, conducting auto refraction & optical imaging, dispensing readers and other similar services.

Our team is open to individuals with a desire to serve and make a difference in the lives of others. No medical background or experience is necessary. Orientation and training will be held in Clarkston on Saturday, May 7.

Team members are required to obtain and provide copies of their state clearances (state Police, FBI Fingerprinting & Child Abuse History Clearance).

Please note the following for this team:

  • 10 hour days are typical.

  • Team lunches and dinners are not scheduled. Team members take breaks as needed for lunch and dinner.

We are currently accepting volunteer applications (skilled and unskilled) as well as donations for this project. Team member support is funded by donations. Sample support letters will be provided and can be used for fundraising. A target support goal for this team is $1,200 per person.
